Cerium Chloride is offered as CeCl3.7H2O as white to slightly yellow crystals or lumps. It is a white crystalline solid, hygroscopic in nature. It is a stable compound, sensitive to moisture and incompatible with strong acids and oxidizing agents
Application:
Cerium chloride can be used as a starting point for the preparation of other cerium salts, such as the Lewis acid, cerium (III) trifluoromethanesulfonate, used for Friedel-Crafts acylations. It is also used itself as a Lewis acid, for example as a catalyst in Friedel-Crafts alkylation reactions.
This unique product is used in pigment industries and also use for making cerium ӏӏӏ Chloride or say Anhydrous.
High Purity Cerium Chloride is used as polymerization catalysts, paint driers, glass decolorants, glass polishing, Incandescent gas mantles, spectrography, preparation of cerium metal, oxidizing agent and chemicals.
