Property

Chrome oxide is a green crystal powder, metal luster, magnetic, good covering strength, high temperature-resisting and sunlight fastness. Not soluble in water, barely soluble in acids, comparatively stable in air, unaffected by acids and alkalis of common density, sulfur dioxide, sulfur hydrogen etc. Chrome oxide green enjoys excellent quality and firmness of coloring.

Packing

Chrome Oxide is packed in 25kgs, 50kgs woven bags lined with PE liner or as request. 20-24MT will be loaded in per 20’FCL container.

Description

One major use of chromium is in Electroplating. It is the process by which an electric current is passed through a water solution of a metallic compound. The current causes the material to break down into two parts.

The free chromium produced is laid down in a thin layer on the surface of another metal, such as steel. The chromium protects the steel from corrosion and gives it a bright, shiny surface.

Thin coatings of chromium alloys are used as plating’s on auto parts, kitchen appliances and other products. These are given the name "chrome plated." This is also used in anodizing aluminum. Thanks to its very high corrosion resistance against many different acids and bases as well as hot gases, chromium is a popular material for all types of protective coating.

In combustion equipment, chromium is used as a wear-resistant coating to increase the service life of specific components. Alongside these applications, our chromium is also used as a brilliant decorative coating for operating elements on appliances or for jewellery.

In addition, chromium gives brilliance and sheen to watches and fittings of all types.

Thermal Spray Coating: Chromium oxide produces the most chemically inert and wear resistant thermal spray coating. Typically, these materials are chosen for applications where a hard, wear resistant and chemically inert surface is needed. Excellent coatings are achieved using the atmospheric plasma process. Addition of titanium oxide in some of these products results in coatings with improved cohesive strength and higher fracture toughness. Compared to zirconia-based ceramic coatings, chromium oxide coatings have higher microhardness and macrohardness; however, they exhibit higher thermal conductivity and are, therefore, not as thermally insulative.

Thermal spray coatings of pure chromium oxide, Cr2O3 possess high hardness, abrasion and corrosion resistance. However, these coatings are also often associated with high brittleness. The addition of TiO2 (titanium dioxide) provides ductility and promotes coatings that are denser and smoother than those of pure chromium oxide. Cr2O3 40 wt.% TiO2 powder produces coatings characterized by very good resistance against abrasion, heat and corrosion combined with very good fracture toughness for a ceramic coating.
